Domaine Allimant-Laugner
Alsace, Orschwiller
The domaine's story begins with two families who have grown vines since the 17th century: the Laugners in the village of Dieffenthal, and the Allimants in Saint-Hippolyte. The family is happy to share this beautiful heritage of more than ten generations.
Our cuvées are built on the seven typical Alsace grape varieties, which came from all over Europe and bear witness to this extraordinary history and heritage.
We are grateful for the privilege of making a product from the ground up, and we farm our vines naturally, with the greatest respect for our environment. By choice, most of the work, such as staking, is done by hand, because it is by being in the closest contact with our vines that we can understand them and give them what they need. To keep the vigour of the vines in check and preserve our ecosystem, we mainly alternate ploughed and grassed rows.
In the cellar too, modernity and tradition must be in balance to make precise and fine wines, with as small a human and ecological footprint as possible. We work with a brand-new pneumatic press and temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks, which let us ferment with natural yeasts only. Every step is checked, to keep additions negligible and to make typical cuvées with authentic aromas.
